MR. EBRAHIM ABDULLA TALEB, HEAD OF MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

It is my great pleasure to introduce to you the Membership Committee of the Society.

Our main objectives are:

To promote bilateral trade between Bahrain and Japan.
To encourage Japanese investment in Bahrain downstream industries.
To open dialogue and exchange expertise and knowledge among industrialists in both countries.
To work with authorities in both countries to remove bureaucracy and ease regulation on commercial deals.

Our initial work started with analyzing the Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT analysis) facing the business relationship between the two countries from the eyes of selected major Bahraini and Japanese companies that are working in Bahrain. Through this analysis, our aim is to facilitate the development of relationship in the field of Commerce and Industry by highlighting to the authorities in both countries the concerns of the business community.

We would like to have an open dialogue with all members through the society website to exchange thoughts and ideas at all times to achieve the Committee’s objectives and welcome you all to participate in this dialogue.

MR. JASSIM AL SHIRAWI, COMMITTEES COORDINATOR

As a Committees Coordinator, members of my team and myself are faced with the mammoth task of organizing activities and events to foster culture and linkages between the two brotherly countries of Bahrain and Japan. The Committee is entrusted with the task of planning and organizing activities which are in line with the aims and objectives of the BJBFS. The events are planned to promote the language, culture, traditions, history and background of both the countries and to highlight areas where people can learn, understand and share from each other’s achievements. The various events planned have and will continue to boost the mutual friendly relationship amongst the people of both the countries, cementing and strengthening the social relationships and galvanizing the friendship bonds.

The cultural activities including festivals, tours, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, get-togethers are planned by the Committee to promote and inculcate awareness and create better understanding of the rich traditions enjoyed by both countries and familiarizing the masses with enhanced understanding and bilateral respect of Bahrain and Japan’s culture.

The activities planned by the Committee for the coming six month period include visits to leading Bahraini Organisations, participation in Bahrain International Garden Show, Painting / Calligraphy Demonstration, Japanese Food Festival, Martial Arts Demonstration and Guest Speakers. The many activities planned by The Embassy of Japan, will also be accommodated in the BJBFS activities plan.

I am grateful to The BJBFS for considering me eligible to Head of Membership Committee and would like to share a few objectives & strategies of my Committee as seen below:

Membership Committee Objectives: Developing tommorow's workforce today. Solve the Language barrier.

Connect between the two countries educational side.
Bridging the cultural gap between the two countries.
Developing a friendly relationship between the two cultures.
Help Bahraini students understand and adopt the Japanese definition of professionalism in the business environment.
Helping both sides experience opposite work experience of the two cultures.

Strategies to promote above objectives

Promoting any events on our website.
Working closely with the Embassy of Japan in Bahrain with the support of other committees of the society.
Creating events, seminars, workshops and other activities that will attract both the youth of Bahrain and Japan.
Promoting youth development, employability skills, careers and important life skills to develop tomorrow’s workforce.
Use of outdoor activities as key learning resource and make a real contribution to creating a better world

I believe that the objectives and strategies described above, will give a new dimension to our Organization. I hereby assure you the best from my side with the cooperation of all Committee members.
